PROGRAM PLANNING

Thank You Scouters and Friends

Amangi Trail Boy Scout Merit Badge University

The Amangi Trail District will be hosting a Merit Badge University weekend the 19th and 20th of July, 2008. This event will be held in San Angelo, TX. All registered Boy Scouts from any Troop will be able to attend. More details about cost, location, and specific times will be coming soon. Look forward to having you attend this first annual Amangi Trail Merit Badge weekend.

Thank you for all the friends I have made and all of the skills I have learned. Two great years as a Professional with the Concho Valley Council Boy Scouts of America comes to a close. Yes, I regret to inform ya'll that I have resigned from my position as District Executive effective May 9th, 2008. I appreciate all of the volunteers out there for your years of steadfast dedication and hard work. Please continue along the scouting trail. Without you we would not be able to provide this great program for today's youth. I'm proud to say that together we have reached a point where I'm certain we are leaving the movement in a better place than we found it. Rest assured that I will be involved as a volunteer to help make a real difference. "May the great Master of all Scouting be with us until we meet again"!

Your Friend, Brad A. McCormick

Amangi Trail Roundtable

2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. At Sierra Vista United Methodist Church on College Hills. Here are the upcoming themes for the next three Roundtables: May - Go for the Gold; June - H20hhh!; July - S'More Summer Fun. We welcome children of all ages to attend roundtable with their parents. Roundtable is a family friendly event. We serve snacks at roundtable, and with activities of their own, we strive to keep all the children in attendance entertained while their parents are busy learning about Scouting. So don't worry about having to stay home on the 2nd Thursday of each month watching the kids. Feel free to bring them along.

We have introduced many new ideas to help enhance all of our roundtable activities. Cubby the stuffed bear travels from pack to pack to be embellished by each unit. This is an award that will be passed to a lucky roundtable participant for possibly one of the following reasons: most attendance, newest Scouter, most years as a Scouter, bringing someone new to roundtable, etc. Never know what we will pick, so just show up to find out. So far Cubby has traveled to Pack 5, Pack 20 and Pack 320. We cannot wait each month to see how he has changed. We are always looking for new volunteers to help out the roundtable staff each month.  Please call Diane at for more information and details.

Permian Basin Unregistered Committee Members

In the next few weeks' applications will be mailed along with a self-addressed envelope to those who are needed to reapply in order to maintain registration. Your prompt return of these applications completed is vital to our District Operations, as well as to your position. If you receive an application and need assistance or have a question, please contact Roberta at . I will be glad to help you.
