ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wahinkto - Order of the Arrow

Greetings Arrowmen,

Fall Ordeal turnout was awesome, over 90 people attended! Thanks to everyone who came out and helped to make it such a success. Our Winter Fellowship (a big party) is coming soon, (invitations go out in December). Troop elections will begin in February. In the Spring we have Spring Ordeal (of course) and Section Conclave (a bigger party).  In the Summer, there is the National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) (the biggest party). The OA version of a Jamboree, and like the Jamboree it takes a bit of planning and money to get there. So talk about it with your friends, and look for details at the Winter Fellowship.

Order of the Arrow Calendar:

January 16-18: Winter Fellowship at HEB Foundation Camp

February - April: Troop OA Elections
April 17-19: Spring Ordeal at Camp Sol Mayer
April 24-26: Section Conclave at Camp Bovay
August 1-6: NOAC at Indiana University

Report to State

For one day, downtown Austin becomes a sea of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers and Sea Scouts from all over Texas marching down Congress Avenue to the Capitol. From there, special Scout delegates from each council in the state go to the floor of the House of Representatives and report to members of the state government about Scouting activities from the past year, and plans for the future. The Capitol Area Council's organization and execution of this program has become the standard for other councils across the country. It is a unique opportunity for the Scouts that take part.  The Scout parade and Report to State happens during Scouting Anniversary week in February.

Program Requirements

All Scouting units are invited and encouraged to participate. Parade participants should wear Scout uniforms. Units interested in participating in the parade need to report early on the morning of the parade with their unit flag.
