Amistad District is the leading Concho Valley Council district in Membership and Finance Growth. Congratulations to all the volunteers for helping Amistad District achieve Chief Scout Executives Winners Circle Above and Beyond.

The District Nominating Committee Process is scheduled to begin August 13, 2008.  A prospect list will be developed for a District Nominating Committee.  October 31, 2008 is the deadline for the District Officers Ballot will be complete.

The volunteers are urged to see the 2008-2009 Council Calendar for the Fall Training dates.  The Calendar is online at www.cvcbsa.org.

August of 2008 brings us to a new school year.  Hope you all had a restful vacation. This School Year we are challenged to pick up the membership.  Katherine Rawald of Pack 202 has agreed to be the Membership Chairman for Amistad District.  Each Pack should have a committee person assigned to handle membership rallies at your school.  Contact Gerardo Martinez as soon as possible to plan your rally. August 7, 2008 will be the first Amistad Roundtable. Units that did not get a program preview package contact Gerardo Martinez at above phone number. The Amistad District meeting will be Monday, August 18, 2008 in Del Rio. The first Thursday of every month will be the Amistad Roundtables in Del Rio. The third Monday of every month will be the District Meetings.

Amistad District will have A Webelos Woods program at Camp Fawcett. The event is scheduled for September 20 ending Sunday September 21. This is an excellent opportunity for Troop and Pack leaders to ensure Webelos cross over to Scouting.  Each Troop needs to host a Webelos Den to the event. This will be a fun camping opportunity to show off Scout Skills and enjoy Camp Fawcett. There will be an OA Fall Ordeal at Camp Fawcett, October 4, 2008.
