Every
Youth Deserves A Trained Leader—EYDATL
|
|
There
are still a great number of leaders in the Permian Basin that have
not received training for their positions within their Units. Being
a trained member of the Boy Scouts of America is vital to ensure
the success of your Troop or Pack. Training is provided at the Council
and District Levels throughout the year.
Leaders
and Committee members can begin basic training by completing Fast
Start Training and Youth Protection Training. This training is available
online and can be accessed by visiting the council’s website at
www.cvcbsa.org and then clicking
on the training button on the right hand side of the page. If
you do not know if you are trained or not, or if your training is
outdated; you may contact Barbara at the Council office for assistance.
Please be sure to have your Boy Scout Member number with you
when you sign on to do these trainings. This number can be
found on your Boy Scout member card. If you do not have a
member card, please contact your Unit Leader. Please check
the council website or council newsletter for Training Dates as
they come available.

Permian
Basin Nominating Committee
|
|
The
district committee is responsible for increasing the effectiveness
of Scouting throughout a district through the achievement of district
goals. Thus, the task of the district nominating committee of selecting
a slate of competent officers and members at large for the next
year is an extremely important one.
The
Nominating Committee will meet 2-3 times and brain storm Scouters
and Community members who might be good for Scouting. This
committee looks at the current positions and need of the District
to make Scouting better in their District.
Once
they identify prospective individuals, several members will approach
them and ask for their participation in the District for certain
District position. If you would like to help the District
Committee be better serving the Units of their District, please
call Roberta. We will begin meeting soon and discussing about
how to make our District the best.
