Greetings !! Thank you for giving us a few minutes to share something we all have in common, the Boy Scouts. First of all, let me say congratulations to everyone here today for being involved in Boy Scouts. Parents, you have chosen to involve your son in an unparalleled youth program that
instills honor, strong values, and a sense of duty not only to self, but also to others.

Scouts, by being a boy scout, you are guaranteed to have all the fun and adventure that scouting has to offer. While having fun, you will also be given the chance to make a difference in your community by actively participating in the many, annual community service projects that Boy Scouts offer.

I ask each of you here today, what other youth organization offers fun and adventure, while instilling core values and the importance of serving others better than the Boy Scouts of America?

That’s why we have to work together to support Boy Scouts, to keep the program as strong as it can be for your son and the other 2400 scouts who are currently registered in our council.

As Congressman Mike Conaway has said, the values that are taught by Boy Scouts help mold young men, young men who will one day be our future leaders. Today, we have the chance to invest in our future leaders, to invest in the future of our country, by supporting the one organization dedicated to developing honorable young men…the Boy Scouts of America.

As a Friend of Scouting, your contribution will go towards creating new and exciting programs, and give funding to the many volunteers who dedicate a lot of time and energy to our boy. Remember, the local Boy Scout office does not receive money from the national office. It is up to us, you and me, as Friends of Scouting to provide the money needed to ensure the strongest organization possible.

Please look at the sheet that has been handed out and see how you can be the BEST Friend of Scouting possible. Your son is now going to benefit from all that scouting has learned over the past 100 years. PLEASE see to it that YOU make scouting strong for another 100 years by contributing today. It is one of the best investments you will ever make!

Thank you for your time, thank your for your attention, and thank you for being a Friend of Scouting!

Friends of Scouting gives parents and other family members of youth who are currently registered in Scouting and Community Leaders a chance to help insure that the program continues to prosper and grow across the council.
